May 2015 Day 2 – Tucki Mountain

Continuing my Spring 2015 theme of doing Death Vally peak hikes, I wrapped things up by hiking to the summit of Tucki Mountain along with Charlie (a friend from NPS, different from the Charlie who joined me for Mount Palmer).  With that, I accomplished my four major hikes for the season and was able to avoid canyon hiking for the first time in a long time.  I plan to resume my canyon hiking this Fall by covering several undocumented canyons.  I’m also targeting Marble BM peak, which is now #1 on my Death Valley To-Do List.  Mount Palmer had been my former #1 but that has now been accomplished.  Tucki Mountain was a very fun hike to do.  Excellent terrain to hike on and a variety of great views during the hike.  The hike to the summit involves crossing 4 different ridgelines (the one you start on, two in the middle, and the final ridgeline which has the summit).  A new trip report for Tucki Mountain will be coming once I have published the reports for Eureka Peak and Mount Palmer.  Below, I am sharing a few teaser pictures from the Tucki Mountain hike.
