Crete Day 1 — Kritsa Gorge

After spending one week in Ireland and a few days in Athens, Greece (both places have been a home away from home for me for the past two decades), we have arrived on the beautiful island of Crete where we are carrying out 6 days of canyon hiking along with plenty of relaxing on various beaches.  Our first hike was Kritsa Gorge in the village of Kritsa near Agios Nikolaos.  Kritsa Gorge had some nice sections of narrows, but it was completely different from the canyon hiking that I am used to in Death Valley and Utah.  I will be saving most of the details for my upcoming full trip reports except to share 2-3 photos from each day of hiking.  Here are a few teaser images from Kritsa Gorge.
